The Transportation system has two purposes. It is an accounting tool that assists you in gathering costs associated with your vehicles and allocating those costs to the General Ledger and Work Order systems. It is also a fleet management system that allows you to track transportation usage and maintenance. The system was designed to maintain current and to date costs on transportation and construction equipment and print reports which will aid in the distribution of transportation costs. Whenever possible, all charges (gas, oil, depreciation, repairs, etc.) are applied directly to a specific unit.

• Charges may be applied directly to a specific unit
• Employee labor charges may be applied at standard hourly rate or the actual hourly rate when interfaced with the Payroll system
• Direct costs calculated based on miles, hours, or other methods
• Indirect or overhead costs distributed to individual units based on current month miles, year-to-date miles, life-to-date miles, or unit cost
• Interface with General Ledger and Work Order provides for distribution of operating costs based on life-to-date cost, year-to-date cost, current month cost, or manually entered distribution rate per mile/hour by unit
• Interface to Accounts Payable for the transfer of purchased vehicle maintenance, and Payroll for vehicle use data, thereby eliminating reentry of this data
• Interface to Inventory for parts and gas usage for in-house vehicle maintenance
• Vehicle Inquiry displays all current, year-to-date, life-to-date cost, use and maintenance history
• Route maintenance codes are identified by vehicle class for tracking and scheduling
